Profile

Alex James is currently a Professor in the School of Electronics with a research specialization in the area of AI hardware, intelligent imaging and analog electronic systems and heads the NeuroAGI center, Indian Institute of Information technology and Management Kerala. He is also professor in-charge of the electronics incubator, Maker Village, Cochin, that hosts more than 70 start-ups. He received the Ph.D. degree from the Queensland Micro and Nanotechnology Centre, Griffith University, Brisbane, QLD, Australia. Prof. James has been the founding chair for IEEE Kerala Section Circuits and Systems Society and Executive Member of IET Vision and Imaging Network. He is a member of IEEE CASS Technical committee on Nonlinear Circuits and Systems. He was an editorial member of Information Fusion, Elsevier, and currently an associate editor for IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems 1 (2018-present).
