Profile

Mike Gater was born in Yorkshire, England. He took an interest in physics at 18 near the end of college and started his Bachelors science degree (Physics) in 2017 at the University of Hull. He graduated with First Class Honours in June 2020. Having thoroughly enjoyed his final year research project he decided that he wanted to continue working in physics research and to pursue a career in this area. He was accepted for PhD studies at the same university and started in September 2020. His research interests are in the areas of understanding and developing the optical and electronic properties of nano materials for use in non-volatile resistive memory applications.
