Profile

Ioannis Vourkas received his M. Eng. diploma and Ph.D. in electrical and computer engineering (ECE) from Democritus University of Thrace (DUTh), Xanthi, Greece, in 2008 and 2014, respectively. He is Assistant Professor of the Electronic Engineering Department, Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María (UTFSM), Valparaíso, Chile. In early 2019 he was visiting researcher in the Department of Electronic Engineering of Polytechnic University of Catalonia - BarcelonaTECH for 2 months. Ever since late 2018 he has been with the Advanced Center for Electrical and Electronic Engineering (AC3E) of UTFSM as Associate Researcher (ANID BASAL FB0008). His research emphasis is in novel nano-electronic circuits and computing architectures comprising memristors. He serves in the Editorial Board of Elsevier Microelectronics Journal. He has been a scholar of the Greek BODOSSAKI Foundation (2011 to 2014).
