Profile

Song-Nien Tang was born in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1972. He received the B.S. degree in Electrical Engineering from Fu Jen Catholic University, Taipei, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1996 and the M.S. degree in Communication Engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C., in 1998. From 1999 to 2001, he was with SiS Inc., Taiwan, working in the ADSL system and IC designs. From 2001 to 2005, he was with Realtek Inc., Taiwan, developing systems and ICs for WLAN IEEE 802.11a/g/n applications. In 2011, he received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, R.O.C. and joined the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI), Hsinchu, Taiwan, to develop medical image systems and ICs. From 2014 to 2015, he was with Realtek Inc., Taiwan, as a project manager for the 40G/25G Ethernet system and IC architecture designs. Since 2015, he has been the faculty of the Information & Computer Engineering, Chung Yuan Christian University. His research interests include IC designs for biomedical and communication systems, hardware accelerator for deep learning applications, SoC developments, and the software/hardware co-design.
