Profile

Juinn-Dar Huang received the B.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronics engineering from National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan, in 1992 and 1998, respectively. He is currently a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Electronics Engineering and the Institute of Electronics, National Chiao Tung University, Hsinchu, Taiwan. He served as the Deputy General Manager at the Program Office of AI Research, Taiwan from 2017-2018. He received the Outstanding Teaching Award of the University in 2014 and 2018. His current research interests include hardware accelerator design for machine learning, microprocessor design, design automation for biochips, and electronic design automation. He received the Best Paper Award in IEEE Computer Society Annual Symposium on VLSI (ISVLSI) 2011. He was the Secretary General of Taiwan IC Design Society (TICD) from 2004 to 2008, the Technical Program Chair of IEEE VLSI-DAT 2019, and the General Chair of IEEE VLSI-DAT 2020. Dr. Huang is currently a senior member of the IEEE, a member of the ACM, IEICE, and Phi Tau Phi.
