Profile

Atia Amin is a PhD student in bioinformatics at McGill University, Canada. Before that she completed her undergraduate degree in microbiology from the University of Dhaka, Bangladesh and her master's in molecular biology from the University of South Dakota, USA. During her master's studies she worked on improving drought resistance in plants by transcription factor based genetic engineering. She is passionate about interdisciplinary research to bridge the gap between molecular biology and bioinformatics. Besides, she is also interested in applying advance machine learning techniques for solving different problems in life science which ranges from plant biology to infectious disease.
