    Bio

    Christian Herglotz received his diploma in electrical engineering and information technology in 2011 and his diploma in business administration in 2012, both from RWTH Aachen, Germany. He received the Dr.-Ing. from the Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany in 2017. From August 2018 till March 2019, he worked as a Post-Doc in a cooperation between Ècole de technologie supérieure (ÉTS) and Summit Tech Multimedia, Montréal, Canada. Since April 2019, he is again with Friedrich-Alexander University Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), Germany as a senior scientist. In this position, he is working on energy-efficient video communications as well as compression for machine learning and has contributed to international standardization activities in the JVET group of MPEG and ITU. Furthermore, he has authored and co-authored more than 25 papers in the field of video coding, energy efficient video communications, and video coding for machines. He is member of the IEEE Visual Signal Processing and Communications Technical Committee (VSPC-TC).
