Mona Ghassemian currently works as a principal research scientist at British Telecom (BT) Research and Technology with a focus on 5G and beyond security. Prior to joining the industry, she worked as a lecturer and senior lecturer for 14 years at several universities, namely King’s College London, University of Greenwich and Shahid beheshti University (SBU).

Mona received the Ph.D. degree in mobile and  personal communications research from King’s College London (KCL) with NTT DoCoMo scholarship. She continued at King’s College  London as a Research Associate in eSense 6th EU framework project. She has authored and co-authored over 70 peer reviewed publications, has 5 filed patents, two book chapters, and served in organising committee of a number of IEEE ComSoc conferences.

Dr. Ghassemian is a senior member of IEEE and currently serves as IEEE UK & Ireland Section Chair ( 2020 - 2021).
