    Bio

    Ivan O’Connell received his B.E. and Ph.D. degrees from the University College Cork in 1998 and 2005, respectively. He is currently Head of Precision Circuits with the Microelectronics Circuits Centre Ireland (MCCI) technology centre, hosted in the Tyndall National Institute, Cork, Ireland. Having joined MCCI in 2013, establishing the MCCI core research team, which has subsequently trained and transferred in excess of 30 engineers to local companies.

    Today his research group consists of Master’s and Ph.D. students, Post-Doctors, Research Assistants, and Senior Researchers. His primary research interests are in the area of precision analogue mixed-signal circuits, data converters and sensor interfaces. He is particularly interested in the application of this research in the application areas including Internet of Things, biomedical, smart agri, and energy harvesting. Dr. O’Connell is currently a Technical Program Committee member of both the Custom Integrated Circuits Conference (CICC) and European Solid State Circuits Conference (ESSCIRC)
