    Sylmarie Dávila-Montero received the BS in Electrical Engineering with high honors from the University of Puerto Rico at Mayagüez in May 2015. In Fall 2015, she joined the Electrical and Computer Engineering Ph.D. program at Michigan State University in East Lansing, Michigan, where she is currently a Ph.D. candidate. Her research interests include processing of biomedical signals, wearable health sensors, and human-machine interfaces. Her current research project focuses on the design of efficient real-time feature extraction and signal processing algorithms for social monitoring wearable devices.

    Dávila-Montero is a current IEEE student member with publications in a variety of IEEE conferences. She is a 2015 GEM fellow, a 2017 National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (NSF-GRFP) fellow, and a 2018 and 2019 NSF Graduate Research Internship Program (GRIP) awardee.
