Xiao Liu was born in 1991, in Linfen, China. In 2013, he received the bachelor’s degree from Shandong University in Jinan, China. In 2013, he was also awarded an ALSP scholarship to fund his Master’s program at Eindhoven University of Technology, the Netherlands. In 2015, he received the M.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering at Eindhoven University of Technology, and the graduation project was on the design of a wideband mixer in a 40nm CMOS technology. In 2015, he started to pursue his Ph.D. degree in Integrated Circuits (IC) group, Eindhoven University of Technology. Here, he worked on the design of high-speed optical transceiver and broadband amplifier with particular focus on broadband distributed driver for Mach-Zehnder modulator and 3D photonic-electronic wafer-scale packaging. Starting from February 2020, he joined a research project with EFFECT Photonics, working on the design of broadband Mach-Zehnder modulator driver.
