This paper presents a single-ended, split-termination passive hybrid simultaneous bidirectional transceiver for die-to-die links. An inverter-based TIA driver was used to improve signal integrity by minimizing signal reflections due to link discontinuities. An AC-coupled passive hybrid was used to lower power while decreasing signal-dependent non-linearity issues at the receiver. Additionally, the passive hybrid minimizes error in the echo signal due to mismatch by making the output of the hybrid depend on the ratio of passive components.
