    Abstract

This paper presents a new active-capacitor-assisted dual-loop OCLDO. As opposed to conventional PMOS OCLDOs where current load range is limited due to significant output variations under large load step changes, a dual-loop control scheme is proposed to improve the slew rates at transient-critical nodes and accuracy. To further improve the loop response, a single-point-detection active capacitor at output reduces undershoot/overshoot and settling time without using any output capacitor. The proposed OCLDO delivers a maximum load of 200mA, achieves fast settling of 110ns and small undershoot/overshoot of 160mV to a load change of 200mA/100ns, and provides best transient FoM of 0.62fs.
