    Abstract

This paper presents an inductorless fully differential and linear design of continuous time linear equalization (CTLE) to simultaneously optimize the bandwidth and noise of transimpedance amplifiers. The proposed CTLE is implemented with RC components in a negative feedback configuration. Comparison with conventional inductor-based approach shows that the proposed CTLE achieves the same equalized bandwidth and results in less group delay variations. Additionally, a TIA is designed using the proposed CTLE approach and its performance is compared with state-of-the-art designs. Proposed TIA design outperforms the existing designs in various key parameters and achieves highest figure of merit.
