    Abstract

Different techniques and devices, which have been invented for malaria diagnosis and detection, are suffering from their drawbacks and limitations when it comes to the real cases requiring the high sensitivity. The device consists of four major components; (i) Tunnelling magnetoresistance (TMR) sensor; (ii) Halbach array of magnets (iii) Analog front end (AFE); (iv) LabVIEW interface. The project is for detecting the magnetic particles by biosensor and with the characteristic of TMR sensor with high sensitivity of 300 mV/V/Oe has been used, the Halbach array is used to create the magnetic field the pure upward magnetic field. After the amplifying and filtering process, the results represent the signal without the noise. The goal of this project is to detect the least concentration sample to meet the industry requirement because in the real situation, the blood samples contain very little malaria hemozoin which have the similar characteristic of magnetic particles. By applying the strong magnetic field using giant Halbach array generating strong magnetic field of 10,000 Oe (1T) and using the suitable filter algorithm, the detection on the real situation sample can be achieved.
