    Abstract

    The design of perfect-reconstruction cosine-modulated filter banks (CMFB) is revisited by applying new linearization techniques for the time-domain PR constraints. The new techniques are analyzed to explain why they can provide improved approximation accuracy with insignificant increase in complexity. A design example is presented for performance demonstration and comparison.
