This paper presents a novel algorithm which uses QRS detection, weighted averaging, the DCT and a SVM classifier to determine whether the wearer of the device should be positively verified or not. Zero intrusion attempts were successful when tested on a database consisting of 33 subjects was obtained. In addition, this paper serves to introduce this new database, UCD-IoT-Wearable-ECG-DB, which has be made publicly available so that future works can use it for further research and expand upon it.
