    Abstract

In this paper, a new charge-mode adaptive residue cancellation scheme is presented for full-duplex bidirectional signalling over on-chip global interconnects by deploying a residue monitor. The operation of cancelling outbound signal is assisted by a replica generation realised by digitally re-configurable capacitor-bank controlled by ADC. The work is implemented at circuit level in 1.2V, 65nm CMOS over a 1-mm on-chip interconnect at a data rate of 10-Gb/s with power consumption of 9.64 mW. The loop locks for an adaptation time of 5.74ns with a final residue of 3.13mV. The extracted inbound signal has a differential swing of 154mV.
