    Abstract

This work presents a precise bandgap voltage reference circuit with emphasis on a high PSRR topology for use in a switch-mode DC-DC Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) Converter. The design opts for a self-biasing circuit instead of an error amplifier to provide a linearly compensated 1.2V reference. Measurements of 7 ICs confirm an average temperature coefficient (TC) of 12ppm/°C from -10°C to 115°C, without trimming. The design suppresses supply noise by use of a pre-regulator, thereby achieving a PSRR of -102dB at 300kHz, while implementing a robust startup circuit that does not contribute to supply noise coupling.
