Abstract
A Class-E² dc-dc converter with basic Class-E inverter and Class-E ZCS rectifier for capacitive power transfer (CPT) is proposed. The proposed circuit partially absorbs the secondary-side compensation resonance inductance into the equivalent inductance of the Class-E ZCS rectifier. The ZVS operation of the inverter is maintained in wide range of the plates distance without any control owing to the $pi$1a impedance matching topology. The observed waveforms in circuit experiment were agreed well with the theoretical waveforms. The dc-dc power conversion efficiency was maintained about the same level of the maximum efficiency in wide range of the plates distance by keeping soft-switching on both the inverter and the rectifier stages.
