Abstract
Teamwork is becoming increasingly important in today\'s engineering and product design professions. In an effort to enhance teamwork and collaboration, our approach relies on adopting a psychophysiological approach for determining how participant feelings of social presence in a virtual reality environment in comparison to the `real\' world. Using a combination of ECG data and a participant feedback from an anonymous questionnaire, our comparative analysis shows that participants felt more relaxed and have a greater sense of participation in the virtual environment. That could provide a stronger theoretical basis for the development of virtual collaborative projects in the future.
